A highly interactive online training programme designed to help clients ensure that
all their drivers have a 'baseline knowledge' of defensive driving best practice,
knowledge and techniques.
The E-learning modules include: -
- Your vehicle
- Are you fit to drive?
- Driving comfortably
- Your driving behaviour
- Safe driving techniques
- Motorway driving
- Parking & reversing
- Adverse weather
- Your duty of care
At the end of each module there is a ‘pop quiz’ based on the information the driver
has just read.
To add a bit of interest, your drivers can view their score in the 'hall of fame'
to see how far up the league ladder they are placed in comparison to their colleagues.
Alternatively they can choose to hide their scores.
Students are allowed to complete the modules over a period of time which helps enhance
the continued learning process.
Cost
£25 plus VAT per driver.

This is a classroom based interactive seminar for up to 20 delegates at a time.
The seminar is designed to be both enjoyable and educational, and lasts for approximately
3 hours. The role of the Presenter is to provoke thought, stimulate discussion and
generally act as a catalyst in order to raise both personal and corporate awareness.
The seminar will explore individual attitudes to driving, as well as illustrate
the risks that people take on the roads, and drivers will learn about the root causes
of accidents and the actions they need to take in order to avoid them.
Broad Aims
- To provide individuals with an insight into the underlying causes of road accidents
- To identify areas where individuals are most at risk on the road
- To illustrate risk situations with real-life case studies
- To provide a forum for individuals to discuss their own experiences and attitude
to risk-taking behaviour
- To provide details relating to economic driving
- To prepare delegates for the in-vehicle practical session (if applicable)
Each seminar is unique and utilises both individual and collective experiences from
within the group to achieve the stated aims, and will include the UK’s first interactive
computer-based hazard perception technology.
Cost
£550 plus VAT per seminar for up to 25 delegates.

Depending on programme objectives, practical sessions are normally conducted on
either a one-to-one or two-to-one basis. To maximise effectiveness RAC Risk Management
will arrange to meet your staff wherever they are located. Training is given in
the individual’s own company vehicle on roads / sites that are familiar to them.
The session is not a test, consequently the trainer will not attempt to change or
improve vehicle control skills, unless a specific physical skill is significantly
increasing risk. Instead, the Trainer will concentrate on helping each individual
to develop the visual and mental strategies required to improve risk perception
and the decision making processes.
Broad Aims
- To identify behaviours / practices leading to loss or injury
- To introduce ‘best practice’ coaching appropriate to all sources of identified risk
- To reinforce the competence of existing behaviours / practices (strengths)
- To improve fuel economy and extend vehicle component life
- To determine areas where further support / training may be necessary
Structure
- Introduction
- The vehicle check – the vehicle condition report
- The first drive – the initial risk assessment, to include low speed manoeuvring
- The discussion and action plan
- The practice – the coaching session
- The final drive – the final risk assessment
- The debrief and feedback – completion of the risk profile
At the end of each session the trainer will provide each participant with a Risk
Profile that will highlight the strength and risk factors identified during the
drive, note progress made and pinpoint areas that require further attention. Time
is always allocated to feedback and discussion.
Cost
£190.00 plus VAT per driver
